PLA Threats Pending: Help do your part today!
Dear  ,

We do our part uncovering big labor schemes and advocating for your right to work, but we can't do it alone. Use the following links to add your voice so that our elected officials hear us when we say "No PLAs"!

Education
This coming Monday, May 15, at 6:00pm, the MUSD Board of Trustees will be taking up the issue of a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) on their Measure M school bond. What we need from you:
  1. Email the Martinez USD Board  and ask them to vote against a PLA for their $120M Measure R
  2. Email Trustee Jonathan Wright and ask him to recuse himself from the PLA vote due to a conflict of interest as he is a member of Teamsters Local 856, which would directly benefit financially from a PLA. Thanks to CFEC and our allies, the California Fair Political Practices Commission will now be looking into Mr. Wright's clear conflict of interest
  3. Attend the meeting to be held at 921 Susana St., Martinez, 94553.
Help us kill this PLA!

Palomar Community College District:
The Board of Trustees at PCCD will be discussing the issue of PLAs at their next meeting on May 23rd. What we need from you:
  1. Contact the Board today and let them know you stand opposed to PLAs.
  2. Plan to show up at the meeting to be held at the Governing Board Room in the Student Services Building, on the San Marcos Campus located at 1140 W. Mission Rd. in San Marcos. Open session begins at 5:00 p.m.
  3. Contact the Palomar CCD Foundation, which raises money for the college and let them know that this controversial issue risks costing the college much in the way of both donations and bad publicity. They can be reached:
760-744-1150 ext 2733
760-744-1150 ext 2732
760-744-1150 ext 2735
760-744-1150 ext 3350
760-744-1150 ext 2664

Fairfield Unified School District:
Last week the FUSD Board of Trustees had the PLA issue brought back before them. Staff was seeking clarification from the board as to where they go in "negotiations" with big labor special interests who don't want to "negotiate" anything. Please contact the following board members and ask them to remain strong in the face of union intransigence:

Cities
City of San Francisco:  CFEC is working with other stakeholders and allies to help beat back a city-wide PLA in San Francisco. We are meeting again this coming Monday, May 15th, at 11am to strategize further. If you would like to be part of this effort contact CFEC today.

Community Choice Aggregation
As we have been reporting, unions around the state are working closely with left-wing activists in at least 25 regions to bring about new "Community Choice Aggregation" entities. These entities would replace current power providers like PG&E and, more importantly for contractors and workers, place all future work under PLAs.   Two of these entities and their PLAs already exist. Another, in Monterey County,  is about to come into existence.  San Diego contractors   can expect their county to be next. Want to get ahead of this and actually stop all this work from going PLA? Contact CFEC today to find out how.
